Technical Handsets Testing
T-Connect S.r.l. is providing consulting services for Technical Handsets Testing activities to H3G S.p.A. in Rome and Milan premises.
In details consultants’ tasks consist in planning, reporting and managing testing activities on UMTS/GSM/GPRS devices and performing functional and inter-operability (IOT) tests on wireless products ( 2.5-3G wireless networks, Wi-Fi/WiMAX, DVB).
The work performed for RADIO testing is mainly related to the assessment of third generation devices functionalities, such as: Sensitivity, Hard Hand Over, Soft Handover, Inter-frequency reselection, Compressed mode, Emergency call, Roaming performances, HSDPA Resources Allocation Indicator verification, Always On functionality, Multiple PDP contexts.
Moreover consulting services include analysis and problem solving of technical issues in IOT testing, Test List and Test Instruction production, Test plans and final reporting.
ZT-Node
ZT-node is a is a wireless sensor network node, a complete modular solution able to integrate several sensors over a single board. Using Zigbee transceiver we can implement up to 240 different sensors over the same board allowing the realization of different scenarios using the same node. Thanks to the limited Zigbee energy consumption our sensors could live for months without battery change.
Due to its modularity we can adapt the ZT-node to particular situations able to monitor different situations and to satisfy the customer needs.
All the communication aspects are managed by a Zigbee transceiver working in API mode. The node is composed by a PIC microcontroller connected with several sensors:

Agriculture Scenario
This scenario is centred about the transport conditions monitoring of pigs. The system is organised like showed in the picture: there is a sink node, in the track, collecting all information coming from each pig. When we reach the desired destination we can download the information storage in the sink node over a local device like a PDA.
ZT-Node Sensors
E-Health Scenario
ZT-node, equipped with an accelerometer, is used like a fall detector. All the environment is monitored by a central node (sink node) able to connect the fall detector with Internet; when an user, like an elderly person, falls down the system will detect if it is a voluntary movement or an accidentally fall.
We are working to enlarge the scenarios of interest also to building automation and energy saving.

Client-server platform providing applications for field workers; it integrates geolocalisation and GPS information, with company’s data to obtain a complete solution. Data exchange is based on a multidirectional transmission between client (PDA) and server.

The product has been adopted by a consultancy company to support the employees working outside the office and allow them to access a central database with UMTS smartphones.
The software is Java both on client and on sever side: an interface module has been installed on a server and clients (smartphones/PDAs) accessing to the application support J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition).
